We are consistently working on personal improvement of skills. Much of it is related to being outdoors and Flagstaff, Arizona is a perfect location to explore the southwest! Our primary goal is raising up young men to be well equipped in both skills and character. If that's you, then you need to show up. Seriously, just show up on a Tuesday night. Come to the back door as the front is locked at that time of night.
Each week will be different. Sometimes we are working on specific skills sets related to a topic (Merit Badge). Our most recent topics have been Cycling, Communications, Digital Technology, and Climbing. There are over 136 topics to choose from and don't worry, it's not all about tying knots! We work on understanding our responsibilities as citizens in our community, nation, and world as well as other topics from programming to acting, first aid to whitewater rafting, chess to entrepreneurship, and even game design. Other nights we'll work on what we call "scout skills" which can be anything from first aid, camping skills, and cooking skills. Sometimes we will have leadership training. Sometimes we'll have games. And sometimes we'll have special speakers. Come check it out!
Scouts is a training ground for leadership. It's here where young boys can learn leadership skills. It's a balance of direction from adult leaders and boy leadership. So, while the troop is meant to be boy led, we expect our parents to be involved as well. The support structure to develop young men needs to be deep and wide. The more involvement we have from parents, the wider the breadth of the troop is and the lighter the load on the point leadership such as the Scoutmaster. Our charter organization (Flagstaff Christian Fellowship) provides us plenty of room and facility to make this happen. So parents, won't you join us with your son?
As Christian troop, each adult leader is required to sign a statement of faith that adheres to the teaching of the Bible in its primary theology and how the Bible defines the points of the scout oath and law. We believe in absolute truth. We believe in God and we believe He reveals Himself through the Bible alone. We depend on God for everything, and so we pray in our troop. We offer prayers of thanksgiving for what He's done for us, prayers of adoration for who He is, and prayers of supplication for our members.
Even a child is known by his actions, by whether his conduct is pure and right.

Teach Scouts not how to get a living, but how to live.
"How can a young man keep his way pure? By living according to your word."
"Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path."
